The international festival for audiovisual projection mapping, Genius Loci Weimar took place for the first time from August 10. to 12.2012 in the german cultural city of Weimar. The festival will be held annualy and focusses on site specific audiovisual art with special emphasis on architectural projection mapping.

Genius Loci Weimar 2013 will be held from may to august 2013 and consits of the modules:
competition, exhibition, workshops, lectures and Genius Loci Club.
Already in the winter semester of 2012/13 Genius Loci Weimar prepares students of Bauhaus-University Weimar for the participation in the competition by hosting the Fachmodul “Animated Objects” at the faculty of media art and design. With it’s interdisciplinary program Genius Loci Weimar gives a survey of the international production in site specific projection art, while taking the local audience serious. Genius Loci Weimar develops a unique meeting point for the international mapping scene as well as professional audiences from the fields of architecture, media arts, design and performing arts.
