Learn projection mapping from AntiVJ in Monterey Bay

California State University is hosting a 2 week projection mapping class, and they are flying in LegoMan or Yannick Jacquet from AntiVJ. If you are in the SF Bay area, then take a look.

Course Dates: June 29 to July 12, 2015

Application Deadline: May 1, 2015 extended to June 19.

  • Learn advanced projection mapping techniques from Antivj http://www.antivj.com, pioneers in the field of large-scale architectural projection mapping.
  • Create prototypes for mapping of digital video on architectural objects.
  • Work collaboratively on advanced digital media content generation.
  • Create a public artwork using video projection mapping techniques.
  • This course will culminate in a public presentation of student work.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
Students with backgrounds in digital video, motion graphics, animation, illustration, and interactive media are encouraged to apply. Students are expected to have working competency with applications including: Adobe Photoshop® and/or Illustrator® and non-linear video editing applications such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and/or Final Cut Pro. Anyone can apply, as this course is not just for college students. CSU even has scholarships available to help bring offset registration costs.

HOW TO APPLY
1)     Submit a URL/link to an online portfolio showing your creative work in digital video, motion graphics, animation, sound design, and/or interaction design.
2)      Upload the materials listed in step one when you complete your Online Registration Form by May 1, 2015 extended to June 19.

Yannick Jacquet is a projection mapping artist and founding member of the Antivj visual label. Yannick’s work is characterized by a desire to step outside of traditional projection formats and locate video in space. Exploring audiovisual performance, installation and scenography, his work is often in situ and is strongly influenced by architecture space.

His work has been exhibited at Louvain­La­Neuve Biennial of Contemporary Art and the Nuit Blanche in Brussels, Belgium; Centre Pompidou Metz, France; the Contemporary Art Center in Geneva, Switzerland; the Cathedral of Breda, Holland; Olp Port of Montreal, Canada; Oaxaca, Mexico City, Tokyo, Kyoto, Paris, Milan and New Songdo, South Korea for Korea’s first outdoor video mapping performance. He currently resides in Brussels, Belgium.
