Aerial Projection Mapping – Guinness World Record

This sounds absolutely ridiculous, and it is. In promotion of the MTV VMA’s, a 250 ft flying projection screen was flown over New York City, using two helicopters and lots of coordination.

One helicopter towed a 250 ft wide banner as a projection screen, and a 2nd helicopter projected onto the screen. It appears the system tracks the screen in real-time using some reflective markers, and dynamically adjusts the image to fit onto the flapping screen.

The gig was accomplished by Branding By Air and Remarkable Media, and the crazy stunt landed them in the Guinness Book of World records.
