At Coachella earlier this year, Obscura Digital was at it again with #Lightweaver, an awesome art installation with a unique physical canvas combined with projection mapping and sound. The architecture and form of the underlying projection surface attracted thousands of audience members, towering at 45 feet tall with a diameter of 75 feet. The sculpture featured a shadow silhouette that moved through the day and would come to life after sunset, showcasing an awesome projection mapping experience at night. What’s fun about the video is you get a really close up look at their workflow including mapping tools such as TouchDesigner.
With warm ambient colors and gorgeous light tracing contour effects, #Lightweaver provided visitors with a life like “breathing” sculpture and a central focal point of the pavilion. The sculpture itself was designed by StereoBot. Props to Obscura for putting together the concept, lighting and audio design. Truly magical.
