Emmy Curl’s new song, “Come Closer,” features fantastic projection mapped visuals created by filmmaker Nuno Barbosa. Nuno has also done amazing visual work in the past for artists like Moby and MAGNOLIUS. Some of you may remember a similar on-body/on-face projection mapping experience, called Omote. Curl uses a similar visual tone, but uses an extra face to help perform the song. When Curl moves her head, the projection mapping visuals shift in and out of alignment, creating a ghostly, yet beautiful effect. The choreographed piece probably required a significant amount of practice time, but the result was worth it! According to the choreographer, the entire video is done as a long shot without any post production. Go Emmy! Truly magical!
