Awesome Projection Mapped Interactive Symphony Synthesizer Thingy!

[spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] Tsubasa Oyagi created a marvelously intricate replica of Tokyo city, then animated it with projection mapping, then turned it into an awesome interactive website. Go play with it at: http://tokyocitysymphony.com/. Seriously, go there, play with it. Now come back…because there is almost no explanation of the work on the page. Tsubasa Oyagi’s studio, sixinc, has done some cool interactive installations and advertising pieces. They were commissioned by a 4 billion dollar housing development, Roppongi Hills, to create an interactive experiences commemorating the 10 yr anniversary of the megaplex. Tokyo City Symphony is a hybrid of new media. Sixinc started by creating a large projection mapping installation on an intricate model of Tokyo. The model is a 1:1000 replic, and is incredibly detailed. The model was actually created for the 2009 bid for Tokyo to host the Olympic Games. Then created a VJ style flash-based keyboard mixer, to seamlessly mix audio-visual sequences into a unique digital groove. It is like a web version of Resolume or VDMX. Ohh internet.
