Engineered Arts is promoting their new and impressive robotic assistant capable of stealing your face and understanding your moods. The bot can even mimic voices and correctly guess a person’s age, producing flashbacks of Terminator’s face and voice changing T1000.

Dubbed SociBot-Mini, the 60-centimeter-tall robot was built by Will Jackson and includes a depth-sensing camera and an integrated micro-projector behind a transparent plastic display material. The plastic is molded to resemble facial contours with a nose, mouth and eyes and uses the projector to display a wide variety of facial expressions. Their software can even recognize faces from the depth camera or from photographs for display in real time.

The SociBot-Mini is being sold as a next generation information display that the public might see at retail stores and museums. With a Kickstarter campaign on the horizon, Will Jackson hopes to create a slimmed down, personal assistant version for your home, selling a, “butler who knows you inside and out.” If you can’t wait for your personal version, you can buy yours today on their online store.
